Wattle Grove signs Master Harry

The Peter Moody trainer Group 2 winner Master Harry has joined the stallion line-up at Berrima based Wattle Grove Stud in NSW.  He will stand for a $6,600 (inc gst) service fee.

Master Harry (Magic Albert – Sri Lanka by Sri Pekan) was a $100,000 buy from Kanangra Stud at the 2009 Inglis Classic yearling sale and retired with three wins and earnings of $277,000.

A winner of the Listed VRC Streets Ice Cream Stakes (1000m) on debut at Flemington, he peaked the following season as an autumn three year-old in the G2 Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m) at Randwick and Listed VRC Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) back at Flemington.

Master Harry is a younger brother to former smart Sydney filly Lieserl.  “He was a most precocious sprinter and gains a lot of his speed from his dam Sri Lanka,” Wattle Grove studmaster Ian McPherson said.  “She’s from one of the major families owned by the late John Cobcroft and it includes speedsters Salaam, Hot As Hell and Flaming Hot.”

Master Harry will stand alongside G1 The Galaxy winner Shellscrape (Dane Shadow) and Helenus (Helissio).  The latter sired last-start G1 Australian Derby winner Ethiopia.
