Westbury Park tops Perth Winter Yearling Sale

Westbury Park topped the Perth Magic Millions Winter Yearling Sale on Friday with a Sebring colt that made $40,000.

Ridgeport Holdings owner Santo Guagliardo was the successful bidder on the colt who is from Bombay Sapphire (Desert Style), a half-sister to the Blackfriars stakes winners Playing God and God Has Spoken.

Guagliardo races last year’s G3 Scahill Stakes winner Conservatorium (Royal Academy) and his two year-olds this season include Ascot winner Rommel (Commands) and Morphettville stakes performer Wroclaw (Big Brown).

Ridgeport Holdings was also listed as the buyer of Korilya Stud’s Planet Five – Goldikova filly for $20,000.  She is from a half-sister to the dam of Group 1 winner Moment Of Change.

Gold Front Thoroughbreds was second on Friday’s leader-board with a colt by Lookin At Lucky – Strait Laced for $35,000 to Vaughn Sigley.  Scenic Lodge was next best with a Blackfriars – True Believer gelding that cost Geoff Durrant $32,000.

The Perth Magic Millions Winter Thoroughbred Sale begins at 11am (Perth time) on Sunday.
