Westbury youngsters favoured at Wanganui

The new-season juvenile division begins racing at Wanganui on Saturday.  The 94.4 The Sound 2YO (800m) is timed for 10am (AEST) and one of the favourites will be Magic Albert gelding End Of The World.

The Trent Busuttin trained youngster is raced by the Karaka Agistment Centre and was a $16,000 Karaka graduate from Westbury Stud.  He clocked the fastest time for juveniles (41.28s) over 700m at the Paeroa trials on August 28.

End Of The World still appeared to be a little green in the hit-out.  He would have certainly take a lot from that outing and will pose a decent threat to his rivals come Saturday.

Precious Sophia, a filly by Westbury Stud’s up and coming sire Cecconi, will be lining up and by all accounts is ready to make an impression following on from some stylish trial form over the last month.

Trained by Graeme Rogerson, Precious Sophia was sold on account of Westbury Stud for $35,000 at the 2012 Karaka Yearling Sale in January.

The Cecconi filly is from the Jade Robbery mare Gypsy Jewels and is a half-sister to Listed Blue Diamond Preview winner The Travelling Man.  Gypsy Jewels has a Swiss Ace yearling colt that will be offered at the 2013 Karaka Yearling Sales, and she is booked in to visit Swiss Ace this year.

Westbury’s two-year-old graduates enjoy significant success last season with Australian stakes winners Destruction, Donna Cattiva and The Travelling Man.  In addition,  Niobe, About Square and Later Gator were stakes placed.
