What you see is what you get with the Lee Freedman trained mare Woppitt and we can see her being handy all the way in the Mitchelton Wines Country Showcase (Race 5 at 3.20pm AEDT) at Seymour this afternoon.
Woppitt (4m Danzero – Campbell Fever by Bluebird) is racing first-up after a 21 week spell and should be nice and fresh for the 1000 metre trip. She is a Moonee Valley specialist but this is the first time she has been sent to the provincials in a 15 start career.
Woppitt already has a black-type win to her credit so connections must be confident she can train on this season otherwise she would have been retired to stud.
Her sire Danzero won a Golden Slipper for Freedman before retiring to Arrowfield Stud and her dam has had 7 to race for 6 winners. Second dam Midnight Fever (Luskin Star) was a G1 winner of the 1987 VATC Blue Diamond Stakes.
