The Korean Racing Association has reported the death of USA bred stallions Yankee Victor and The Groom Is Red. Both horses were 15 and were based at the KRA operated Jeju Stud Farm.
Yankee Victor (Saint Ballado) won the G1 Metropolitan Handicap at Belmont Park in 2000 and stood at Airdrie Stud in Kentucky before transferring to South Korea in 2005. He is represented by 30 stakes horses including Dubai champion and California G2 winner Kinsale King.
The Groom Is Red (Runaway Groom) was a G1 winner of the 1998 Champagne Stakes for trainer Nick Zito. He was sent to South Korea in 2000 and has been represented by seven stakes horses.
The Jeju Stud Farm roster this year is headed by new recruit Officer (Bertrando). He stands with Peace Rules, Exploit, Commendable, Volponi, Menifee, Vicar, Forest Camp, Pico Central, Hawk Wing, and One Cool Cat.
