Zebedee shuttles to Cornerstone Stud

Cornerstone Stud has announced leading English first-season sire Zebedee will shuttle to its Barossa Valley base from Tally Ho Stud next year.

Zebedee (Invincible Spirit) won the G2 Flying Childers, G3 Molecomb Stakes and Tattersalls Millions for trainer Richard Hannon in a career restricted to 7 starts in 2010.  Juvenile filly Qatar Dance won the Prix Ortie Blanche (1600m) at Saint-Could on Thursday to take his tally to 31 individual winners in Europe this year.

Leading the charge among his two year-olds is July Stakes winner Ivawood who is among the pre-post favourites for the 2015 English 2000 Guineas at 12/1.

“Zebedee forced his way on to our radar half-way through the flat season with the sheer quantity of runners making the track and winning,” Cornerstone manager Chris Hayes said.  “After visiting Tally-Ho Stud in September with Johnny McKeever, and inspecting the stallion, we knew Zebedee was the right fit.”

Zebedee is a son of Irish National Stud resident Invincible Spirit, whose son I Am Invincible is reigning champion first-season sire in Australia.  He will join Dalakhani, Hussonet, Ambidexter and Good Journey on the Cornerstone roster in 2015.
