Zenyatta has been confirmed in foal to leading sire Tapit. The 2010 USA Horse of the Year delivered her first foal, a colt by Bernardini, at Lane’s End Farm in March.
Zenyatta (Street Cry) won 19 of her 20 starts and became the first female to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic in 2009. She went down by a head in her repeat bid in the race one year later.
Gainesway Farm stallion Tapit has leapt to prominence within a relatively short space of time and his initial fee of $15,000 has risen to $125,000. Tapit is a G1 winning son of Pulpit and is the sire of seven G1 winners including 2011 Champion 2YO Colt Hansen.
