Equinome opens office in Australia

Irish equine genetics company Equinome has opened a sales and marketing office in Australia.

Equinome was established in 2009 by Dr Emmeline Hill, a University College Dublin genomics scientist, in partnership with trainer Jim Bolger.  The new Sydney office will mean the company will be in a strong position to strengthen its activities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

“The opening of our new Australasian sales office is another exciting step in Equinome’s development,” managing director Donal Ryan said.  “With our business growing rapidly in the region, it was necessary to establish a permanent base here to meet the increasing demand for our services and to provide enhanced support to our existing customers.

“Australia and New Zealand are world leaders in the bloodstock industry and home to many of the world’s finest thoroughbreds, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with many of the top breeding and training operations here while expanding out our regional presence.”

This latest development follows the launch of the Equinome Speed Gene Test in 2010 and the Equinome Elite Performance Test in 2011.

Equinome has secured clients in USA, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Ireland, UK, France, Russia and Singapore.
