Stand-alone status confirmed for Magic Millions Sales

Fears that next year’s Magic Millions yearling sales would be compromised by the addition of wholesale dispersals have been allayed by the company’s Managing Director Vin Cox.

Cox has assured the industry that future sales, particularly the January Magic Millions and March QTIS Sale, will be stand-alone.

Thoroughbred Breeders Queensland President Basil Nolan had raised concerns after a Patinack Farm dispersal was tacked on to the recent Magic Millions HIT Sale on the Gold Coast.  That sale returned a disappointing 69% clearance rate.

“Vin Cox agrees that the sales need to be about quality not quantity for them to be a success,” Nolan said.  “We thank Magic Millions for their understanding and support and look forward to continuing a positive relationship between breeders and the company.”
