Well-related sprinter Accomplished made it back-to-back victories in Singapore after bursting between runners on Friday evening.
Accomplished (4g Golden Snake – Gold Patriot by Made Of Gold) was a Kranji winner on October 5, however, he was facing smart types like Flak Jacket and Power Lion who were both chasing a four-in-a-row. Given a peach of a ride by apprentice Joseph See, he collared front-runner Flak Jacket (Dane Shadow) to score by nearly two lengths.
Power Lion (Danroad) peaked on his run to finish another neck away third.
Trainer Sam Chua said Accomplished is making headway with every run while still learning about the racing caper. He has now won 5 times in 13 starts for earnings the equivalent of AUD 217,480.
“That was probably one of his best wins as he was up against some very nice horses tonight,” Chua said. “But we knew there would be plenty of pace and Joe and I decided we would take a sit and let him come home.
“He’s a horse with a big heart and I hope he can become as good as his older brother Super Gold. I will probably give him a break now. He’s earned it.”
Super Gold was a Group 3 winner of the 2009 Committee’s Prize and 2010 Moonbeam Vase. The brothers are by Danzig sire Golden Snake (USA) and their unraced three year-old brother Gold Striker is also in Singapore with trainer Stephen Gray.
Accomplished was bred by Paul Kristoris from former Milluna Park mare Gold Patriot. She has a 2yo colt and a yearling filly by Golden Snake who is based at Ridgeview Park in Muskerry East.
Golden Snake stands at Ridgeview Park in association with LP Stallions manager Julie Nairn. Last advertised for $5,000, his 2014 service fee is priced on application.
