The Ocala August yearling sale ended in Florida yesterday with across-the-board gains compared to last year. The Select session on Tuesday saw a 9% average increase to $35,981. The Open sessions on Wednesday and Thursday were even better with the average going up 26% to $8,818.
Thursday’s session was led by a Congrats filly that made $64,000. The locally-bred filly is out of the stakes-placed mare Singsingasong (Sultry Song). Next best was a Trippi filly at $50,000. She is the first foal from stakes-winner Pyrite Bonds (Formal Dinner).
