Across the board records at Ocala Breeders 2YO Sale

A colt by former Darley shuttler Elusive Quality created a new record for the Ocala Breeders 2YO Sale during the second and final season in Florida on Wednesday.

The was purchased by Hill ‘n’ Dale Bloodstock for $350,000 topping the previous record of $310,000 for a colt by Double Honor in 2004.

Elusive Quality sired champion colt Sepoy in his final season shuttling to Australia and he got the Florida star from Gypsy Hollow (Dixieland Band).  He is a half brother to stakes winners Gipson Desert and Dixie Emperor.

Also eclipsing the previous mark was a Spring At Last filly that made $320,000.  The chestnut is out of stakes performer Zahwah (Rahy).

Turnover on Day 2 reached $5.27 million at an average of $29,137.  That was up 41% compared to last year and the clearance rate improved 4 points to 74%.

For the entire sale, trade was a record $10.24 million.  The average was also a record increasing 25% to $25,947.
