American owner Martin Schwartz topped the Arqana Arc de Triomphe Sale on the weekend when he paid 450,000 euros (AUD 637,120) to secure juvenile filly Mambia (Aldebaran).
Mambia was offered by trainer Joel Boisnard after winning four of her six starts including the G3 Prix du Calvados at Deauville last month. Schwartz hit the jackpot at the 2008 Arc Sale when he purchased subsequent G1 French 1000 Guineas winner Elusive Wave (Elusive City).
The Aga Khan’s G3 Prix de Fontainebleau winner victor Rajsaman (Linamix) was next best on the leader-board. He is closely-related to 2009 G1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Rosanara (Sinndar) and was knocked down to Chantilly Bloodstock for 440,000 euros (AUD 622,960).
Schwartz also bought G3 Italian 1000 Guineas winner Evading Tempete (Dubai Destination) for 370,000 (AUD 523,855).
