Pallarenda Stakes winner by Greenwood Lake

Racetree sire Greenwood Lake took an early mark with his second Queensland crop when He’s So Tempting won the Pallarenda Stakes in Townsville on Tuesday.

He’s So Tempting (2g Greenwood Lake – So Tempted by Jeune) is bred to graduate to black-type racing being a half-brother to G1 Greyville Thekwini Stakes winner Happy Archer (Dubawi) and Listed Gold Coast Bracelet winner Femina Fashion (Shamardal).  Their dam So Tempted is a winning sister to G2 VRC Wakeful Stakes winner Lolita Star (Jeune).

Part-owner Mick Anning bought He’s So Tempting for $14,000 from the Racetree draft at the 2010 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Sale.  The youngster is trained at Wulguru by Bub Baker.

He’s So Tempting was placed in a Cluden Park trial last month but was allowed to go out at $10 on debut.  He defeated Set To Reign (Reset) and stablemate Apache Crazy Horse (Minardi) by a long neck and a half head.

Greenwood Lake (Meadowlake) didn’t get mobile with his initial crop of Australian two year-olds last season.  There were only two winners from 14 starters out of a pool of 49 foals.

The Racetree resident is a three-quarter brother to Success Express and he was a G1 winner of the Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park.  He stands at Racetree for $8,800 (inc gst) service fee.
