Arrowfield Stud newcomer Animal Kingdom (USA) has returned six early positives from his first mares covered this month.
They include Vitesse Dane (G1 Queensland Oaks), Merlene de Lago (G2 winning daughter of Golden Slipper winner Merlene), Suspicion (G3 winner), Armed For Action (Listed winner), Miss Bussell (Dam of G3 winner Miss Darcey) and Gibraltar Campion (Listed winner).
“He’s the smartest first season stallion I have seen in the barn,” Arrowfield manager Sam Fairgray reports. “He’s an absolute natural and a pleasure to work with.”
That first southern book also includes champion fillies Miss Finland (Redoute’s Choice), Alinghi (Encosta de Lago) and Weekend Beauty (Helissio), the dam of 2008 Australian Horse of the Year Weekend Hussler.
Animal Kingdom (Leroidesanimaux) won the 2011 Kentucky Derby and 2013 Dubai World Cup and stands for a $38,500 (inc gst) fee. He will shuttle to Darley’s Jonabell Farm in Kentucky for his first northern book starting in February.
