Another Cup for Street Cry

Street Cry added another name to his burgeoning list of black-type winners this season when Street Value took out the $130,000 Bunbury Cup on Thursday.

The Darley shuttler sired a feature double at Flemington last Saturday with stablemates Shocking (Australian Cup) and Whobegotyou (Blamey Stakes).

Street Value (5m Street Cry – Marscara by Marwhina) burst to the lead off some solid sectionals and had enough in hand to hold off the late closers.

“She got to the front and just kept plugging,” winning jockey Shaun O’Donnell said.  “She just out-stayed them.”

Street Value won her maiden at Kalgoorlie in May 2009 and had added four city wins at Ascot and Belmont before breaking through at Listed level for trainer Michael Grant.

Her dam Marscara won five races in Western Australia and she has a yearling colt by Bel Esprit and a filly foal by Lonhro.
