Another Pretty filly for Medaglia d’Oro

Darley shuttler Medaglia d’Oro has another class filly named Plum Pretty on the horizon in North America.

Plum Pretty is trained by Bob Baffert and she humbled her Sunland Park Oaks rivals with a Rachel Alexandra-like winning margin of 25 lengths on Sunday.

Plum Pretty (3f Medaglia d’Oro – Liszy by A.P. Indy) travelled from Baffert’s Southern California base to New Mexico for the Listed event.  She is owned by John Fort’s Peachtree Stable and was a $130,000 buy at the Ocala Breeders 2YO Sale in  March 2010.

A winner on debut at Hollywood Park, Plum Pretty was then Group 1 placed in the Santa Ynez Stakes and Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita.  Her dam Liszy is by champion sire A P Indy from G2 winner Silent Account (Private Account).

Sheikh Mohammed purchased Medaglia d’Oro from Stonewall Farm after his first crop filly Rachel Alexandra won the 2009 Kentucky Oaks and Preakness Stakes.  He began shuttling from Darley’s Jonabell Farm in Lexington to Australian last year.

Medaglia d’Oro is a 12 year-old son of El Prado and he covered a book of 97 mares at Darley Kelvinside at an $88,000 fee last year.
