Redoute’s Choice sired his third winner in Japan on Saturday when Thrustline scored over 1800m on debut at Hanshin.
Thrustline (3c Redoute’s Choice – Race Pilot by Sunday Silence) is a Shadai homebred and he joins Clianthus and Ranryoo among Redoute’s Choice’s list of Japanese winners since January 1.
Thrustline’s pedigree holds considerable interest for both Japanese and Australian breeders. His dam Race Pilot is a winning half-sister to King Kamehameha. He was Japan’s Champion 3YO colt in 2004 and Japan’s Champion sire in 2010. She is also a half-sister to G1 Santa Anita Derby winner The Deputy. Their dam Manfath is a Last Tycoon mare from English stakeswinner Pilot Bird.
Another G1 winner further back in the pedigree is Redoute’s Choice colt Musir. He will be one of the favourites for the G1 Dubai World Cup on March 26.
The Redoute’s Choice – Sunday Silence cross has produced Australian G2 winning filly El Daana, while Last Tycoon mares sent to Redoute’s Choice have produced six stakes winners, among them G1 Dariana, G2 Drumbeats and G3 Shaaheq.
Redoute’s Choice has 44 yearlings catalogued for the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter yearling sale, including half or full relations to Makybe Diva, Private Steer, Samantha Miss, Polar Success, Savabeel, Rothesay, Beneteau, Amelia’s Dream and Sky Cuddle.
Australia’s champion sire is also represented by a colt from the Aga Khan’s stakes winning mare Vadsalina who hails from the family of Lomar Park’s G1 winning sire Valixir.
Redoute’s Choice’s Arrowfield based son Snitzel is also proving a hit in Japan with 12 individual winners from a one-off season in 2007.
