Artie Schiller transfers to Hunter Valley

Emirates Park will relocate its Victorian based stallions Artie Schiller (USA) and Mulaazem to the Hunter Valley this year.

The stud’s general manager Bryan Carlson has confirmed Artie Schiller will stand at its Murrurundi headquarters for a service fee of $22,000 (inc gst).  The announcement has come at a time when Artie Schiller’s stud career has soared to new heights.

The only stallion to have more than one starter in the 2016 Golden Slipper field, Artie Schiller’s juveniles this season include Group 2 winner Good Standing, Group 3 winner and Group 1 Blue Diamond & Golden Slipper placegetter Flying Artie and unbeaten filly If Not Now When who has earned over $234,000 in Super VOBIS events.

“Artie Schiller can’t really do any more than he has already achieved when standing at stud in Victoria,” Carlson observed.  “He has had wonderful support from breeders in the Garden State and they have been largely responsible for his success in these parts to date.

“Stakes winners Vain Queen, I Love It, Lady Melksham, Big Chill, Secret Liaison and now Flying Artie were all bred by Victorian concerns and these quality runners serve as testimony to the support Victorian breeders have afforded the horse.

“But making Artie Schiller available in the Hunter Valley this coming season provides him with another dimension.”
