Reward For Effort busiest sire in Victoria

The Australian Stud Book released final figures for the 2015 stallion season last week and Reward For Effort led the way in Victoria with a book of 209 mares.

The Group 1 winning son of Exceed And Excel has been popular with broodmare owners since retiring to Chatswood Stud in 2011 and he has repaid their confidence with a constant flow of winners in his first two crops.

Woodside Park’s in-form sire Written Tycoon was next best (184 mares) and he was followed by Swettenham Stud freshman Toronado (174 mares).

A total of 147 stallions stood in Victoria last year headed by Brazen Beau (Darley), Starspangledbanner (Rosemont Stud) and Zoustar (Woodside Park) who were all priced at $44,000 (inc gst).
