Aysar foals all quality from Geisel Park

The first foals by Aysar are turning heads at Geisel Park and stud manager Conor Dunlop reports there hasn’t been one negative response among the positive feedback from broodmare owners.

“The consensus among breeders is they’re all quality and we’re over the moon with our foals.”

Dunlop joined Geisel Park in 2012 and the last three seasons have been the busiest ever for the Irish-born horseman with the arrivals of Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago), Aysar (Deep Field) and Winning Rupert (Written Tycoon).

Loloma Farms owner Kevin Fowler sent Jungle Mak (Teofilo) back to Aysar this month after inspecting the mare’s August 11 filly from his first crop.  Jungle Mak’s earlier fillies include Ascot winner Shell Bell (Snippetson) and Real Deluxe (Sessions) who is on a hat-trick for Fowler in Kalgoorlie on Wednesday.

The homebred foals include the filly by Aysar from Don’t Call Me (Snippetson).  “She’s a very nice type and looks like she will be forward,” Dunlop predicted.  “The dam is a full-sister to Rebelson.”  An odds-on Northam 2yo winner for Darren McAuliffe, Rebelson trained on as a 3yo for Listed victories in the Fairetha and Aquanita Stakes.

Helmet mare Regal Magic also delivered an Aysar filly for Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg in the first week of September.  It’s her first foal after a career highlighted by wins at Belmont (3) and Ascot for Ted Martinovich.

An Aysar colt from Indi Pacific (Blackfriars) had arrived two days earlier at Myalup.  The dam was another four-time winner, albeit at the provincials for Alan Mathews, and she continues a black-type line as a full-sister to Lady Knockout (VRC Matron Stakes) and Young Lionel (Northam Cup).

Second-dam Prime Again (Marooned) was a Group winner in Perth (Champion Fillies Stakes) and Adelaide (Auraria Stakes) for Tilden Park.

There were 89 mares in Aysar’s initial book and first in the foal stakes was a colt from Lady Sass (Unencumbered).  She delivered on July 29 at Gold Front Thoroughbreds and they posted a photo noting ‘he’s a gorgeous, strong-shouldered colt by Aysar’ on Facebook.

Aysar (Deep Field) won a LR Chautauqua Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley and is a half-brother to Home Affairs (I Am Invincible) who is currently covering his third book at Coolmore Stud for an $82,500 service fee.

“Torryburn Stud bred both colts and told us they were clones as foals,” Dunlop said.  “We don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves but based on what we’ve seen to date, I’m confident Aysar is destined for a very successful stud career.”

Aysar stands for an $8,800 fee at Geisel Park alongside Manhattan Rain ($8,250), Winning Rupert ($8,800) and All American ($4,400).  For bookings or further information, contact Conor Dunlop on 0447 434 735.
