Baggio on a hat-trick for Stryker

Stryker’s talented colt Baggio is on a hat-trick after a first-up win at Gosford and a hollow victory at Goulburn.

Baggio (3c Stryker – Denarii by Dehere) won his maiden by a half-length over 1000m and then improved his own weight with a 6 length runaway in the Fifes Stockfeeds Hcp (1300m) on Thursday.

He is part-owned by Damien Flower’s Jadeskye Racing and was the most expensive yearling from Stryker’s first crop when making $220,000 for Three Bridges Thoroughbreds at the 2014 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Baggio is the first foal of a three-quarter sister to Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Mirror Mirror (Dehere).  Three Bridges has catalogued a Stryker – Denarii filly as Lot 154 at the 2016 Magic Millions and the mare foaled an Unencumbered colt in August.

Stryker (Fastnet Rock) stands at Three Bridges and he is an Australian Top 10 second-season stallion with 11 winners of $418,500 since August 1.  Leading his Australian contingent is Lakeview Resources filly Andrioli who was a front-running winner during the Caulfield Cup carnival.

Tony McEvoy’s VOBIS Gold Eureka Stockade winner Metier is another promising Stryker and so is last week’s last-to-first Warwick Farm winner Labdien.

Stryker’s NZ colt Rangipo is ready to make amends after an unlucky fourth in the G3 Wellington Stakes on November 27.

Rangipo had won three races earlier this season but was fractious and slowly into strike in the Group 3 at Otaki.  He was hampered after a furlong and hung out around the home turn before finishing strongly behind the placegetters.

Trainer Tony Pike has nominated Rangipo for the G1 Levin Classic at Trentham on January 16.

Stryker has 4 yearlings, including the sister to Baggio, entered for the Gold Coast Magic Millions in January.  The filly from Voltdanze (Danzero) is being offered by Three Bridges as Lot 712 and she is a half-sister to Sydney stakes performer So Detached.
