Bel Esprit (Eliza Park) and Bianconi (Swettenham) are settling down to a two-horse war for the Victorian winners’ premiership in 2010-11.
Both stallions broke through the century mark on the long weekend and are currently locked on 101 individual winners each.
Bel Esprit is already home and hosed for the prizemoney premiership. World champion Black Caviar has provided nearly half of his overall earnings of $6.27 million this season.
Bel Esprit notched up a ton when Saint Esprit won a Class 2 at Corowa on Saturday. His 2yo filly Bolisimo Miss made it 101 individual winners at Cranbourne on Sunday.
Bianconi sired his century when Neverbeenworse won at Carnarvon on Saturday and Luckycent squared the ledger at Mornington on Monday.
The Swettenham resident has sired 101 winners of 145 races so far this season. His career high of 105 winner of 164 races, set in 2009-10, is also the record for a sire based in Victoria.
There are five stallions ahead of the Victorian duo on the Australian winenrs’ premiership – Commands (139), Encosta De Lago (126), Lonhro, (118), Testa Rossa (114) and Redoute’s Choice (112).
Bianconi (Danzig) will stand for an $11,000 (inc gst) fee in 2011. Bel Esprit (Royal Academy) has been priced at $27,500 (inc gst).
