Belated breakthrough for Where’s That Tiger

Former Baerami Thoroughbreds sire Where’s That Tiger opened his account in Australia with Lady Macan on Wednesday.

Lady Macan (2f Where’s That Tiger – Lady Jakeo by Last Tycoon) is trained by David Payne and is from her sire’s second crop conceived in the Hunter Valley.  She won the TAB Early Quaddie Hcp (1400m) at Randwick’s Kensington course for Cressfield Stud owner Bruce Neill.

Lady Macan is a half-sister to stakes winners Red Arrow and Able Choice.  They are from Lady Jakeo who was a Group 1 winner of the MRC Blue Diamond & MVRC Australia Stakes.

Where’s That Tiger (Storm Cat) is from a sister to Fusaichi Pegasus and he won on debut at The Curragh and was also runner-up in the G3 UAE 2000 Guineas.  Transferred to Australia, he won a Rosehill trial for Gai Waterhouse but was retired in time for the 2009 breeding season.

His first Australian crop only numbered 17 foals and that was reduced further when several were exported to South Africa.  Among them was Tiger Quest (3f ex Impervirent by Canny Lad) and she went on to win the LR Gardenia Hcp at Turffontein in November.

Where’s That Tiger followed suit earlier this year and he is now based at The Alchemy Stud in Cape Provence.
