Hong Kong trainers are scouting the world for likely prospects prior to the start of the 2009-10 season.
The latest galloper from England to head to the Far East is Deposer. The John Best trained three year-old was owned by Kent Bloodstock and won his maiden at Lingfield last year. He resumed this term to be G3 placed in the Diomed Stakes at Epsom and the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Deposer is by Darley’s latest Australian shuttler Kheleyf (Green Dancer) who won an edition of the Jersey Stakes in 2004.
German born Andreas Schutz has reinforced his stable with Melbourne stakes winner Fernandina. The Desert Sun colt is raced by a Hong Kong based client of Leon Corstens and was always destined to race off-shore.
Fernandina opened his account in March 2008 at Moonee Valley and he returned in the spring to capture the Listed Vain Stakes and G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude at Caulfield.
