Dash For Cash sired his 400th individual winner last month and he surfaced again when Blazejowski scored a second black-type victory in the Listed John Dillon Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Australia Day.

Blazejowski (6g Dash For Cash – Ellexcell by Octagonal) had won the G3 Shaftesbury Avenue Stakes (1400m) at Flemington in February but had been unplaced five times since resuming in October.  “It’s been very frustrating this prep,” trainer Greg Eurell said.  “He’s been terrific at home but has been coming to the races and doing a few little things wrong.

“He’s sound and his work has been right up to speed, however, he’s just been making it hard work for himself carrying that weight.

“But the true Blazejowski was back at the races today.  He’s a lightly raced 6yo and we will just keep poking along and hopefully get him into the right races.”

Now a near-white 22 year-old, Dash For Cash has been based at Scenic Lodge since a transfer from Swettenham Stud.  His 400th winner arrived when Balderdash found the line in a Bunbury maiden on December 20.

Balderdash is a homebred for Ben Prowse who has been a strong Dash For Cash supporter in WA.  He has an unnamed 2yo brother to Balderdash and booked in Red Leather (Comfy) and Bullamanka (Outback Prince) last year.

The 400 Dash For Cash winners have won 1,226 races at a 66% strike-rate.

Scenic Lodge manager Jeremy Smith has a Dash For Cash – Zany Lady (Zeditave) colt entered for the Perth Magic Millions.  Catalogued as Lot 256, he’s a half-brother to Ascot winners Zefiro and Stacks On.

“He continues to please and is powering ahead through his preparation,” Smith reported this week.  “He’s athletic and there’s plenty of quality about him.”
