Blue Ksar tops Emirates Sale

Former Godolphin galloper Blue Ksar topped the Emirates Racing Authority HIT Sale at Meydan on Wednesday.  Bahrain-based Abdulla Ali Ahmed Mohamed purchased the seven year-old gelding for the equivalent of AUD 50,545.

Blue Ksar (Anabaa) originally sold for 320,000 euros (AUD 554,680) at the 2004 Deauville yearling sale, a few months after his older half-brother Blue Canari (Acatenango) won the French Derby.

Blue Ksar won five races in England and France and was also Group placed at Epsom, Newmarket, Goodwood and at Nad al Sheba.

Tawaash (Storm Cat) was next on the leader board at AUD 53,735.  A winner at Lingfield and York in May 2008, he knocked down to Dubai owner Hassan Ali Seirafi.

The ERA Sale saw 66 horses change hands for turnover of AUD 740,445.
