Cadillac revs up Reset

Cadillac Mountain has notched another black-type result for Reset with a running double at Werribee.

The Contract Racing four year-old had won the Werribee Cup (2000m) on November 20 and he powered home for a narrow victory in the LR Spicer Thoroughbreds Hcp (2600m) over Averau and Hurdy Gurdy Man at the same venue on Sunday.

Cadillac Mountain (4g Reset – Picholine by Dehere) was runner-up in the G2 Alister Clark Stakes in March and he has matured into a problem-free horse this time in.  “Compared to earlier this year, he’s pretty well behaved,” jockey Stephen Baster said.  “He relaxed really well and I couldn’t have asked for a better run.  He did a great job and he’s got a big future.”

Darley Victoria stallion Reset has sired 29 stakes winners and his most recent include Fawkner (G1 Caulfield Cup), Set Square (G1 VRC Oaks) and the Perth Listed winners Disposition and Real Game.

Cadillac Mountain was bred by Contract Racing’s David & Jenny Moodie in partnership Nick & Gayle Psaltis and Peter Anastasiou.  They purchased his dam Picholine for $440,000 at the 2010 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale.

Earlier in her stud career for South Australian breeder Harry Perks, she had foaled Rebel Raider (G1 Victoria Derby) and Shamoline Warrior (G3 Norman Robinson Stakes).  Picholine has 3yo High Chaparral colt named Lucques and a yearling filly by So You Think.

Reset (Zabeel) stands at Darley’s Victorian property at Northwood Park for a fee of $16,500 (inc gst).  He heads the current Victorian sires’ premiership and has 11 lots catalogued for the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in March.
