Melbourne Cup raider Campanologist (USA) has died after suffering a bout of colic.

The 10 year-old Darley homebred was returning from Argentina to Gestut Fahrhof in Germany where he has been based since 2013.  He finished 16th in the Melbourne Cup won by Americain.

Campanologist (Kingmambo – Ring Of Music by Sadler’s Wells) is a from a half-sister to Singspiel and Rahy and he struck four times at Group 1 level in Germany and Italy.

His oldest crop are yearlings and the most expensive was a colt out of the stakes-placed Praia (Big Shuffle) that made 140,000gns at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
