Coolmore Stud has announced brilliant sprinter Caravaggio will shuttle to Australia for the 2018 southern season.
Caravaggio is regarded as the most accomplished son of Scat Daddy. Unbeaten in four juvenile starts, he signed off with victories in the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and G1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
Kept in training, he completed a Royal Ascot double with a memorable win over Harry Angel in the G1 Commonwealth Cup. The runner-up brought his unbeaten run to an end in the G1 July Cup at Newmarket.
“Caravaggio was a very mature two-year-old that developed into an awesome sprinter,” said Tom Magnier. “He has an excellent pedigree, free from Danehill and all our team see him as the perfect fit for this part of the world.
“It’s a very exciting time for the farm with Caravaggio and Churchill joining the roster and American Pharoah returning to Australia.”
Caravaggio will stand the 2018 season at Coolmore Australia for a fee of $33,000.
