Cat’s Cradle tops Inglis Melbourne March Sale

Darley Stud’s annual reduction contributed strongly to the top-end of the Inglis Melbourne March Sale at Oaklands Junction on Friday.  Turnover of $1.6 million was achieved for 278 lots sold at a 92% clearance rate.

The Lion Cavern mare Cat’s Cradle topped the one-day sale selling to Three Bridges for $51,000.  She is carrying a PPT to Exceed And Excel.

Other Darley highlights included Pirouettes (in foal to Street Sense) for $44,000 and the Fusaichi Pegasus-Danglissa mare Meduesa (in foal to Henny Hughes) for $41,000.

Lindsay Park sprinter Allied Force was sold to Inglis (as agent) for $50,000.  A son of Redoute’s Choice, he is a half-brother to South African G1 winner Suntagonal (Octagonal).  They are from a sister to the dam of Typhoon Tracy and Red Element.

Allied Force was an on-pace speedster winning races at Moonee Valley and Bendigo in 2008 for part-owners John Messara and Alan Jones.
