Lyndhurst Stud sire Sequalo reached the 100 individual winner milestone this season when Reonmay broke a long run of outs at Wondai on Saturday.

Reonmay (6m Sequalo – Adorable Relic by Chariot) has now won four races but the previous one had been at Ipswich in May 2008.  The grey mare is trained by Larry Maudsley at Beaudesert and, in her early days, she was a 2YO Maiden winner at Doomben.

Sequalo (Rustic Amber) has now sired 444 individual winners at a 64% strike-rate.  This is the sixth season he has topped three figures since retiring to Lyndhurst in 1997.

Sequalo’s exciting Perth based gelding School Rumble completed a winning hat-trick at Belmont Park on Saturday.  He jumped straight to the front from an inside draw and accelerated to a winning lead at the top of the straight.

School Rumble (3g Sequalo – School Blue by Geiger Counter) won his maiden at Northam in April before trainer Lindsey Smith took him to town.  “He’s a nice on speed horse,” Smith said.  “We will give him a let-up now and he should win in open company next time in.”

His dam School Blue (Geiger Counter) was unraced and so was her dam Blue Feather (Sadler’s Wells).  The second dam is a half-sister to four-time European G1 winner Bigstone (Last Tycoon) who stood in Australia and sired the Group winners Society Beau, Sir Clive and Lady Mulan.

School Rumble is the third winner from as many to race for School Blue.  Her first foal Kalani Blue (Ashkalani) also won in WA at Bunbury and Punch Up (Sunday Knight) has won five races to date in Brisbane.

School Blue’s owner Bill Duncan sent her back to Lyndhurst and she has a weanling colt by Sequalo.  Duncan’s Couzinz Bloodstock sold School Rumble to Smith for $30,000 at the 2008 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney.

Lyndhurst will stand Sequalo for a $17,600 (inc gst) service fee in 2010.
