Warwick Farm trainers Gabby Englebrecht and Matthew Smith each took home a Pluck yearling from the Gold Coast and there’s more classy Plucks closer to home at the Inglis Sydney Classic Summer Sale.
The Vinery sire has 10 lots (5 from Vinery) catalogued at the Summer Sale commencing this Sunday, February 8.
Englebrecht paid top price of $100,000 for his filly from Diamond Cove at the Magic Millions. “The Plucks are a lot like his sire More Than Ready,” she said after signing the sale-sheet. “There’s a real presence about our filly from Diamond Cove.”
Smith bid $70,000 for Pluck’s half-brother to David Payne’s promising stayer Bomber Brown (Big Brown) and Gary Moore’s smart juvenile Joyful Passion (Congrats).
A Pluck highlight at the Inglis Summer Book is the filly from Miss Rangoon (Lot 264). She is very athletic and is a half-sister to G3 BTC Classic winner Platinum Kingdom.
Vinery’s Classic draft begins with a sister to exciting Hong Kong sprinter Eroico, from Collodi (Lot 16). Eroico was a $60,000 graduate from Vinery at the Melbourne Premier Sale and was an eye-catching winner of the London Hcp at the Hong Kong International Meeting in December 2014.
