Clearance rate 78% on Day 8 at Keeneland September yearling sale

Robust trade during Day 8 of the Keeneland September yearling sale on Monday was headlined by the $450,000 paid by Ron Winchell for a Tapit – Ikari colt.  He is a full brother to Comely Stakes (G3) winner Touching Beauty.

A filly by Arch out of Board Battle brought the day’s second-highest price of $285,000 from Carolyn Vogel.  Consigned by Miacomet Farm, the filly is from the family of Group winners Carriage Trail and Criminologist.

Keeneland sold 296 horses on Monday for $15.13 million at an average of $51,117.  The clearance rate for Book 3 (Sunday & Monday) was the best of the sale so far at 78%.  The September Sale continues through to Sunday, September 26.
