Coolmore Stud will review Starspangledbanner’s Australian stud fee after he runs in the G1 July Cup at Newmarket next month.  The Choisir colt was initially priced at $33,000 (inc gst).

Starspangledbanner, the emphatic winner of the G1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last Saturday, will join his sire Choisir on Coolmore’s Hunter Valley roster later this year.

A decision as to whether Starspangledbanner will reverse shuttle to Ireland in 2011 will also be made later this year.

Ballydoyle trainer Aidan O’Brien praised Starspangledbanner after the colt broke the course record in the Golden Jubilee.  “He’s the fastest we’ve had, no doubt,” O’Brien claimed.  “We’ve never had one go that fast furlong by furlong.  He’s an incredible sprinter and we’re looking forward to the July Cup.”
