Sea The Stars covers first book of 140

Sea The Stars has just finished covering his first book of mares at the Aga Khan’s Gilltown Stud in County Kildare.  The champion Cape Cross colt had his initial book capped at 140.

Among his stellar list of mares were Japanese champion Vodka and Group 1 winners Alpine Rose, Finsceal Beo, Lookhere, Lush Lashes, Speciosa and the Aga Khan’s outstanding Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Zarkava.

Sea The Stars stood for an 85,000 euros service fee (AUD 119,100).  He also covered Zarkava’s dam, Zarkasha, as well as Asmara, the dam of the Aga Khan’s promising second-season sire Azamour.

Gilltown studmaster Pat Downes said that Zarkava is in-foal and that her first filly by Dalakhani had left for the Aga Khan’s stud in France.  “She’s a nice filly,” Downes said.  “When she left us she was very strong and mature-looking, with good bone.”
