Cowboy Firing for Giadresco

Gelorup trainer Peter Giadresco prepared one of the first winners by Natural Blitz and he’s bobbed up with another smart type by the Mogumber Park stallion this season.

Natural Blitz (Dehere) was transferred to Bullsbrook based Mogumber Park earlier this year.  There have been 11 winners from his first-crop including the Giadresco-trained filly Purse Snatcher who broke her maiden at Bunbury last December.

Riverbend Cowboy is the latest Natural Blitz to surface.  He is a homebred for Riverbend Lodge owner Bob Ryan and is unbeaten at Northam since resuming from a 36 week spell.

“He had trialled well at Belmont but drew an outside barrier first-up over 1100 metres,” Giadresco said.  “He settled towards the rear and then showed a good turn of foot to win easily against a competitive field.”

Riverbend Cowboy (4h Natural Blitz – Firing Squad by Dauberval) maintained that progress when stepping up to 1300 metres on Thursday.  He powered home from the back section to score by a half-length in the NTI Hcp.

“The Ryans have been patient letting the horse mature and it’s certainly paying off,”  Giadresco explained.  “Let’s hope there are more victories in the near future!”

Natural Blitz was a Group 2 winner at Caulfield, Moonee Valley, Rosehill and Eagle Farm.  He stands for a $2,750 (inc gst) service fee at Mogumber Park.
