Curraghmore Stud’s yearling clips for NZ Bloodstock’s 2012 Premier Sale at Karaka are now online.
Curraghmore studmaster Gordon Cunningham sold 35 yearlings at the 2011 NZB Yearling Sales Series for an average price over $155,000. The top priced Zabeel – Cat Shema filly was purchased by Connolly Bloodstock for $550,000.
Curraghmore Stud is a proven source of Group 1 winners the calibre of Sousa (Galileo), Efficient (Zabeel), Sphenophyta (Groom Dancer), Fully Fledged (Align) plus the G2 winner and first season sire Guillotine (Montjeu).
Among Curraghmore Stud’s 27 lots in the Karaka Premier Sale are the only two southern hemisphere yearling colts by Galileo (Sadler’s Wells).
“They are a pair of quality colts and we’re excited and privileged to be presenting them for sale in January,” commented Cunningham. “The yearling out of Astonish (Lot 54) would be one of the best yearlings in our draft.”
Curraghmore has catalogued yearlings by 13 different sires in its Premier line-up including Danehill Dancer, Don Eduardo, Pentire, Savabeel, Zabeel and first season sires Duke of Marmalade, Henrythenavigator, Northern Meteor and Sir Percy.
The highlights in Curraghmore Stud’s 2012 Karaka include;
Lot 67 – High Chaparral colt from Ballet Danseuse (Stravinsky). The dam is a half-sister to Victoria Derby – Melbourne Cup winner Efficient (Zabeel).
Lot 204 – Zabeel filly out of Floridita (Fasliyev). Family of Group 1 winners Maybe (Galileo) and Dancing Rain (Danehill Dancer).
Lot 278 – Encosta de Lago colt ex Lady Marion (Danehill). Brother to the Group 2 winner Largo Lad.
