Dansili has sired 60 stakes winners world-wide and it’s only a matter of time before Soft Sand salutes as his first Australian bred winner at that level.

Soft Sand (3f Dansili – Mizzle by Rahy) looked a black-type filly in waiting when she produced a paralysing finish at Sandown on Saturday.  The Colin Little trained youngster defeated Song Of The Bell (Artie Schiller) and Amour Cache (Exceed And Excel) running away by more than a length.

Soft Sand had won a Bendigo maiden on debut in July and she kept her unbeaten record intact with a first-up victory in the Ladies In Racing Magazine (1000m).  “We knew she’d get back and is obviously very good to be able to give them such a big start,” Little said.  “We wanted her to relax and rely on her natural ability to win.”

The G2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield in February is her long-term goal and Little is hoping she will eventually get out to 1600m.

Soft Sand’s dam Mizzle was placed twice in England and was imported to Australia in foal to Dansili in January 2008.  She made $160,000 when sold by Yarraman Park at the 2010 Inglis Easter yearling sale.

Mizzle has a yearling filly by Hard Spun and she foaled a Nicconi filly in September.

Dansili is a son of the legendary Danehill and stands at a fee of 65,000 pounds at Juddmonte Farms in England.  His Group 1 winners include winner Rail Link (Arc de Triomphe) and Harbinger (King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes).
