Nadeem and All Bar One are going tit-for-tat at the top of the Australian 2YO winners’ premiership and the Darley sire squared the ledger again on Sunday.
Nadeem’s individual winner count increased to six when Dark Angel scored by a half-length in the Ashton Resources Hcp (1200m) on Gunnedah Cup day.
Oaklands Stud sire All Bar One had reached the half-dozen mark when his North Queensland based youngster Champagne Buzz won on May 2.
Dark Angel (2f Nadeem – Opaline by Jade Robbery) faded from view on debut at Muswellbrook in April but sprouted wings to nail the leaders in the closing stages at Gunnedah. She is trained by Todd Howlett at Cessnock and was a $10,000 buy from the Golden Grove draft at the 2010 Scone yearling sale.
Her dam Opaline is a homebred for Geoff and Beryl White and she is a half-sister to their Marscay stallions Jetball (G1 AJC Galaxy Hcp) and Marwina (G3 AJC Stan Fox Stakes).
Nadeem (Redoute’s Choice) will stand for a $22,000 (inc gst) fee at Darley Kelvinside in 2011. The best of his first crop to date has been Tasmanian filly Triple Asset who won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in her home state and followed up with black-type victories at Flemington and Morphettville.
