Darley sires hit the Heights

Dubawi Heights (GB) completed a Group 1 weekend for Darley sires in the Yellow Ribbon Stakes at Santa Anita on Saturday.

The Californian based filly followed Manikato Stakes winner Sepoy (Elusive Quality), Epsom Hcp winner Secret Admirer (Dubawi) and Spring Champion Stakes winner Doctor Doom (Domesday).

Dubawi Heights (4f Dubawi – Rosie’s Posy by Suave Dancer) will be aimed at the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf by trainer Simon Callaghan.  “She’s improved with every race and I’m sure she will be a great chance at Churchill Downs,” Callaghan said.  “The form stacks up and it makes sense to go there.”

Dubawi Heights was sold for 130,000 gns as a yearling at Tattersalls in November 2009 but arrived in California as a maiden.  She broke through at Hollywood last November, added an allowance at Santa Anita and kept climbing the ladder with victories in the G3 Wilshire Stakes and G1 Gamely Hcp earlier this year.

Darley sires added G2 victories elsewhere in the USA on Saturday.  Wilburn (Bernardini) captured the Indiana Derby and Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty (Medaglia d’Oro) added the Cotillion Stakes in Pennsylvania.
