Goffs November Foal Sale figures continued to soar on Day 3 with substantial increases in turnover (18%), average (31%) and median (40%).
Zebedee provided the top lot for the second day running with a filly from Penny Rouge (Pennekamp) that made 82,000 euros. She was purchased by Julie Wood who raced her sire to 6 wins in 7 starts as a two year-old. Zebedee (Invincible Spirit) bowed out of racing with a G2 victory in the 2010 Flying Childers at Doncaster.
Wood also purchased a High Chaparral – Aguilas Perla filly for 60,000 euros as well as a Zebedee – Liscoa colt for 55,000 euros.
Yeomanstown Stud purchased the second highest priced foal of the day when going to 80,000 euros for a Dark Angel – Fanciful Dancer colt from Jockey Hall Stud.
The first crop of Patinack Farm shuttler Lope De Vega were also in great demand with Castletown Stud’s colt from Fifer selling to Mattock Equine for 68,000 euros while his colt out of Pivotal Role made 62,000 euros.
The Day 3 trade saw turnover of 4.14 million euros at an average of 24,232 euros and median of 21,000 euros. The clearance rate was 79%. The Goffs November Foal Sale concludes on Thursday.
