A Redoute’s Choice colt topped Friday’s session of the Gold Coast Magic Millions with a $1.30 million bid from agent James Harron.
He joined Thursday’s full brother to Sebring at the top of the overall leader-board. “We had pegged him as a million-dollar colt but we just hope he didn’t go too far past it,” Harron said. “He’s by a champion sire with a great pedigree and beautiful physique.”
The Redoute’s Choice colt is from Ballet Blue (Stravinsky) and hails from the family of Group 1 winner Imananabaa.
Luskin Park’s Snitzel – Ultimate Fever colt was next best on $925,000. He was secured by China Horse Club in partnership with Newgate Farm & Winstar Farm and is a full brother to recent stakes winner Le Cordon Bleu who runs in Saturday’s $1 million Magic Millions Sprint.
“This was a colt we really didn’t want to leave behind,” China Horse Club agent Michael Wallace said. “It’s a global game and Australia has a very buoyant stallion market. If you get the right Snitzel colt you get really well paid.”
Milburn Creek’s I Am Invincible half brother to Group 1 winner Sizzling went to trainer Tony McEvoy for $900,000. “I was hoping to get him for under a million,” McEvoy commented. “He’s a quality horse. I was under-bidder on Sizzling and I didn’t want to miss this colt.”
After three sessions, the Magic Millions has seen almost $120 million traded on 574 lots at an average of $208,824. The clearance rate continues to impress at 87%.
