Federation of Bloodstock Agents Australia (FBAA) members have spent another $7.07 million on Day 3 of the Gold Coast Magic Millions.
It followed FBAA trade of $8.07 million on Day 1 and $6.71 million on Day 2.
Blue Sky Bloodstock (FBAA) agent Julian Blaxland outlaid another $2.42 million on Friday with Aquis Bloodstock and trainers Mick Price, Tony Gollan & Tony McEvoy.
Top-priced of the 7 buys was the $500,000 Not A Single Doubt three-quarter brother to MVRC Inglis Banner 2YO Stakes winner Azazel that’s going to McEvoy.
Blaxland weighed in with $400,000 each for a pair of colts by Not A Single Doubt and Pierro to be prepared by Price. Glenlogan Park sold the Not A Single Doubt who is a half-brother to smart Jet Spur stakes performer Spendora.
Blue Sky and McEvoy acted separately for a $180,000 colt by Delago Deluxe. He’s the first foal from an unraced daughter of Listed Dark Jewel Classic winner Really Flying.
On another front, Blaxland paid a combined $560,000 for fillies by I Am Invincible and Uncle Mo on account of Paul Murray and $270,000 for a Zoustar colt going to Michael Freedman.
He also linked with Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott to buy the $300,000 Lonhro filly from NZ Group 2 winner Adaline.
Belmont Bloodstock (FBAA) agent Damon Gabbedy acquired 3 fillies topped by a $625,000 More Than Ready for Perth owner Bob Peters. Her dam Catalonia was stakes placed in Brisbane and is a half-sister to this season’s Listed Gimcrack Stakes winner Jorda.
“She was a stand out – great hindquarter and great walker,” Gabbedy said. “She was expensive but it’s a very strong sale and there’s a lot of demand for these types of fillies.”
Peters and his wife Sandra have enjoyed continued success with More Than Ready and fillies like Perfect Refection (G1 Kingston Town Classic) and Dreamaway (G1 WATC Derby).
Laurel Oak Bloodstock (FBAA) bought two fillies with a WA connection on Friday. Louis Mihalyka paid $480,00 for the Snitzel three-quarter sister to G1 Emirates Stakes winner Awesome Rock. She was offered by Newgate Farm on behalf of Sunspeed breeders Alan and Sue Olive.
Mihalyka also bid $100,000 for the Pierro filly out of a half-sister to G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Camporella.
Randwick Bloodstock (FBAA) agent Brett Howard was back in action for Mystery Downs and Henry Dwyer on Friday. He paid $85,000 for a filly by Al Maher on behalf of Dwyer.
Howard upped the ante for Mystery Downs after purchasing a $300,000 I Am Invincible filly on Thursday. He followed up with $950,000 for four lots topped by the $400,000 Mossman half-sister to Flemington stakes winner Eximus.
