Day 6 Goffs November Sale – Dynaformer mare heading to India

Dynaformer mare Charmstone topped Day 6 of the Goffs November Sale during a quiet conclusion to an otherwise lively week of trade on Saturday.

Darley sold Charmstone in foal to Cape Cross and she is heading to India after making 29,000 euros.  Darley also sold Hay Point (Authorized) to John Clarke for 24,000 euros on Saturday.  The John Oxx trained filly had won a Fairyhouse maiden in 8 starts this year.

The two-day bloodstock section of the Goffs Sale saw 293 mares change hands for 8.15 million euros.  The average increased 6% to 27,829 euros and the median gained 11% to 11,000 euros.  The clearance rate improved 8 points to 74%.

“The Goffs rallying cry for some time now has been that Irish breeders need not travel to sell as Goffs will achieve the very best prices for the best Irish horses,” Goffs CEO Henry Beeby said.  “Our only real difficulty has sometimes been attracting the quality that would justify the price.

“This year’s renewal of the Goffs November Sale made advances, especially at the top and middle of the market.  These results follow superb editions of the Orby and Sportsman’s Yearlings Sales where, again, those Irish vendors that sent us their best reaped the dividend.”

Overall trade for the six-day sale reached 23.15 million euros and an average that dipped 6% to 26,497 euros.  The median dropped 10% to 13,500 euros while clearance rate improved 3 points to 75%.
