Dazzling start by Eureka Stud stallion

Eureka Stud stallion Red Dazzler has joined the leaders for the Australian first-season winners’ premiership.

Red Dazzzler sired new juvenile winners Weona Dazzler (Sunshine Coast) on Sunday and Takotna (Rockhampton) on Thursday to take his total to 8 this season.

The Group 1 winning son of Red Ransom joined the log-jam at the top of the table with All Bar One (Oaklands) and Nadeem (Darley).  Next best are Artie Schiller (Independent Stallions) and Ad Valorem (Darley) on 7.

Red Dazzler (Red Ransom) was a Group 1 winner of the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield and Eureka studmaster Colin McAlpine rates him one of the most promising stallions to ever stand at the successful Queensland nursery.

Takotna (2g Red Dazzler – Bubbles Of Joy by Shalford) gave him a share of the lead with a half-length victory in the XXXX Summer Bright Hcp (1400m) at Callaghan Park on Thursday.

Trained locally by Julie Green, Takotna broke through at his fifth start in the last six weeks.  He was an $11,000 buy for owner Ron White from the Eureka draft at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

His dam Bubbles Of Joy is a half-sister to Sydney winner Ancient Mariner (Luskin Star) who went on to run second in a Hong Kong Derby under the name Cruise Control.

Red Dazzler will stand for an advertised service fee of $13,750 (inc gst) at Eureks this year.
