Second winner salutes for Due Sasso

Mungrup Stud freshman Due Sasso sired his second winner on Thursday when You Say So saluted in the Thelma Winch Maiden (1100m) at Northam.

You Say So (2g Due Sasso – True Accolade by Is It True) parked off the speed under Peter Knuckey before producing a strong burst in the straight to score by three-quarters of a length.

The winner is trained by Stan Bates and was a $15,000 buy from Geisel Park at the 2010 Perth Magic Millions.  He had been placed twice at Belmont earlier this month after resuming from a 22 week spell.

Due Sasso was a G3 winner of the 2006 Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield for owner-breeder Des Pope and trainer Brian Mayfield-Smith but injury curtailed his career after just 8 starts.

The son of Scenic has been based at Mungrup since 2007.  His first winner arrived when Kemilee opened the Perth Cup program on New Year’s Day.

You Say So is from True Accolade who won a Kal. maiden for Mark Pedley and Geisel Park’s Eddie Rigg.  Her first foal Wocket In A Pocket (Zedrich) won five races and her latest is a weanling colt by Danehill Express.
