Destination Dubai for Chilean Horse of the Year

Champion South American mare Belle Watling has been sold and is currently in quarantine in Miami.  The 2009-10 Chilean Horse of the Year will be trained by Patrick Biancone.

Belle Watling (Chi) has won 13 of her 16 starts – the last 10 of them in a row.  Her crowning achievement came in the G1 Gran Premio Asociacion Latinoamericana in Santiago in September.

The Gran Premio Asociacion Latinoamericana is the race that brings the continent’s best horses together at weight-for-age as it rotates between the major tracks of South America’s racing nations.

Originally owned by Stud Don Theo, Belle Watling was also a G1 winner of the Polla de Potrancas (Chilean 1000 Guineas) and El Ensayo (Chilean Derby).

Belle Watling (4f Dushyantor – Biala by The Great Shark) has Australian connections on both side of her pedigree.  Her sire Dushyantor (Sadler’s Wells) is out of a half-sister to the dam of Scenic.

And her sister Scarlet is a member of the Patinack Farm broodmare band.  Scarlet (Chi) was the 2008 Chilean Champion Filly and she foaled a colt by Murtajill on September 29.

Present plans call for Belle Watling to race at the 2011 Dubai World Cup carnival.
