Dissolved wins $100,000 Inglis Trophy at Sale

Dissolved will be set for feature autumn races after winning the $100,000 GPG Inglis Trophy Race (1400m) at Sale on Sunday.

The Lonhro colt is the latest horse to prosper from the inaugural $2.5 million Inglis Race Series.  The Sale event was restricted to graduates of 2008 Inglis yearling sales.

Dissolved (3c Lonhro-Yarralumla by Grand Lodge) was a $300,000 buy at the 2008 Inglis Easter yearling sale when consigned by Segenhoe Stud.  The colt is prepared by John Hawkes and is by an all-time favourite during his time training for the Ingham family.

Dissolved is from a half-sister to G1 champion Grand Armee who banked over $5 million during a glittering career for owner Allan Bell and trainer Gai Waterhouse.

The Sale Cup meeting also saw an Elvstroem 2yo filly sell to a local syndicate for $32,000.  The filly is from the Royal Academy mare Terra Nova who hails from the great Eight Carat dynasty.

“The Sale Turf Club hosted an excellent meeting and Dissolved certainly looks a horse capable of measuring up to some nice races next year,” Inglis Director Peter Heagney said.  “The Elvstroem filly selling for $32,000 was a good result for the Club and the interest it created suggests it is a concept that can be built upon.”
