Touchstone Farm may have unearthed a stakes winner of the future with the Trevor Andrews trained Golden Act.  The four-year old Tale of the Cat mare showed plenty of potential when a first up winner at Ascot on October 21.

“Trevor has done a terrific job with her and it was a great win first up,” Touchstone Farm’s Marco Pierluigi said.  “She is a horse with a lovely temperament and will make an excellent broodmare when she retires.”

Golden Act (4m Tale of the Cat-Fashion Review by Rancher) is one of 15 horses that Touchstone have in work.  She fetched $52,000 at the 2008 Perth Magic Millions Winter Sale and is a half sister to Listed WATC Raconteur Stakes winner Moet Magic (Second Empire).

“The majority of our horses in work are fillies and mares and they will eventually visit Touchstone stallions,” Pierluigi said.  “We are aiming to get some black type with Golden Act over the summer carnival, but what she contests will be left up to Trevor.”

Touchstone Farm currently stands Natural Blitz, Vital Equine, Redoute’s Dancer and Flying Pegasus at its WA base in North Dandalup.  Former boom juvenile Shrewd Rhythm will join the roster in 2010.  The son of Danehill Dancer is currently under the care of astute trainer Mick Price.

“We are very excited to be adding Shrewd Rhythm to our ranks and we expect that he will be very well received,” Pierluigi said.  “Obviously he is very well bred and if he could land another stakes race over the autumn then he is only going to enhance his value.”
